Meeting SDK integration · Last updated September 27, 2026
Vyrgent Receptionist is an AI assistant that joins a Zoom meeting as a live on‑screen avatar to greet and help participants. It listens to the meeting and responds in real time with a natural voice. It is always identified as an automated AI agent.
Overview
The app uses Zoom's Meeting SDK to join a meeting the operator specifies. The operator's Zoom Meeting SDK Client ID and Client Secret are used to generate a short‑lived SDK signature so the receptionist can join. No Zoom passwords are collected by the app.
Setup
Create a Zoom app with the Meeting SDK feature enabled (marketplace.zoom.us → Develop → Build App).
Copy the app's Client ID and Client Secret from the App Credentials page.
In the Vyrgent application, open Settings → Receptionist → Zoom and paste the Client ID and Client Secret. They are stored securely on the local device (encrypted at rest) and are never shared publicly.
Joining a meeting
In the Vyrgent application, issue the command: /receptionist zoom <meeting link or ID>
If the meeting requires a passcode, use the full invite link (which includes the passcode).
The receptionist joins as a participant named with an "(AI)" suffix, greets the meeting, and begins assisting. If the meeting has a waiting room, the host admits the "(AI)" participant.
To leave: /receptionist zoom stop. To check status: /receptionist zoom status.
Own vs. external meetings. An unpublished Meeting SDK app can join meetings hosted by its own Zoom account. To join meetings hosted by other accounts, the app must be published on the Zoom App Marketplace (per Zoom's API License Terms).
Data handling
Meeting audio and text are processed in real time only to generate the receptionist's responses and are not retained after the session unless the operator explicitly enables saving a transcript to their own storage. See the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
Removing the app
You can deauthorize/remove the app at any time from your Zoom App Marketplace account, which ends its access.
